PostHeaderIcon Where Can I Find Financial Assistance For My Dog’s Surgery In Canada?

My 18 month old Chihuahua has grade 3 luxating patella and will need surgery to repair both of his knees. The vet doesn’t recommend doing them at the same time so essentially, he needs two surgeries, about 8 weeks apart. I was looking into organizations that offer financial help to those who are stuck in a rut (such as myself) and they help Americans, but I’m Canadian and I don’t know where I might be able to get some of the money to help cover the costs. It’s $1200 per surgery! Do you know of any Canadian organization that could help me?
He’s not limping or doesn’t seem to be in any pain, so the vet said it could wait a couple of months. The vet doesn’t offer payment plans. Thanks in advance for any answer!!!

PostHeaderIcon I’m From The Uk, I’d Like To Study In Canada At Mun. What Sort Of Financial Aid Is Available To Me?

I live in the UK and I’m planning on doing my A-levels for the next two years but once I’m done I’d like to study in Canada at MUN. According to the site the fee for an international student is approx. $16,000, so about £10,000 a year. This includes accommodation and meals. I won’t have anywhere near that sort of money available to me even in 2 years just from part time work etc and yet it says to qualify for a study permit, I need to have evidence I can pay my tuition fees. To me that seems a little harsh, surely there is some sort of financial aid I can get assuming I get accepted in? like a student loan or something. Would I even qualify for it, being an international student? Would I be expected to pay anything up front or have a certain sum of money already? I know I’m expected to show that I have money to look after myself as well in order to get the visa, but wouldn’t that fall into the boundaries of a student loan and part-time work I’d get whilst there? Surely if I have enough for the trip and to take care of myself for a short period, that would be enough. Then I can get a student loan to pay for tuition fees. Having evidence PRIOR to actually getting a loan would seem a little bit unreasonable.
I’d just like someone to shed a little bit of light on the whole process. I absolutely want to get out there to study, my best friend lives out there and it’s the change of pace and lifestyle I want. It’s just quite intimidating at this point because it appears to be a very complicated procedure.
Any info about moving over there to study, living expenses and other costs as well as info on visas and what have you would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, any information on citizenship and moving to Canada would be lovely.
Thanks in advance!
